In London in 1947, a white London office worker named Ruth Williams (Rosamund Pike) goes to a party with her sister and meets a young black man (David Oyelowo). She soon finds out that he is Prince Seretse Khama from Botswana who is soon to be King, having lost his father. When Seretse proposes marriage to her, Ruth's father disowns her. Nonetheless, they are married, but they have no idea what an outcry their union has caused.

When Seretse takes Ruth back home to Botswana to live, his uncle turns his back on him, stating that Seretse is unfit to rule. The English and South African governments are also against the union, and set up a ruse to get Seretse and Ruth to return to England, where they plan to separate the two.

Ballerina

An orphan girl (Elle Fanning) has big dreams of becoming a ballerina. Her friend Victor (Dane DeHaan) decides to help her run away from the small town where they live in order to get her into a ballet school in Paris.

Although she has no formal training, she gets a position as a pupil at the prestigious school. It soon becomes clear that she has a lot of work to do in order to keep up with the other students, who've been training for years. She will dance off against her rival ballerina Camille (Maddie Ziegler), for a coveted part in the ballet recital.

Beauty and the Beast

Belle (Emma Watson) lives in a small town in France with her loving father, Maurice (Kevin Kline). He leaves on a trip to the market and when his horse comes back without him, Belle goes looking for him. The horse leads her to an enchanted castle, where Belle finds Maurice imprisoned in a tower by The Beast (Dan Stevens). She offers herself as a prisoner in exchange for her father's release.

The Beast was once a vain, arrogant and handsome prince until an Enchantress cast a spell on him. The Enchantress leaves a rose in a glass case, telling him that when the last petal falls, if he has not found someone to love him, he'll remain a Beast forever, and his servants will become inanimate objects without personalities.

Belle finds to her amazement that the household objects in the castle are alive, and can talk. They wonder if she's "the one" and tell her the Beast is not as terrible as he appears. She slowly gets to know his softer side, just as the townsfolk are preparing to rescue her.

CHIPS

Based on the popular '70s television series of the same name, this spoof film adaptation centers around an FBI agent who is given the alias Francis "Ponch" Poncherello (Michael Peña) and rookie Jon Baker (Dax Shepard).

The two meet when they're put together as partners to go undercover to expose crooked cops within the California Highway Patrol. Jon is excited about it, because he feels the fancy new uniform will impress his wife and save his marriage. While Ponch feels Jon is too intimate with other people, Jon sees Ponch as being too tough and lacking emotion and has a great time teasing him about it.

When they discover the dirty cops are carjackers, led by Vic Brown (Vincent D’Onofrio), they have to come up with a plan to take them down.

Fifty Shades Darker

After leaving Christian (Jamie Dornan), Ana (Dakota Johnson) starts a new job as personal assistant to the editor, Jack Hyde (Eric Johnson), at a publishing company. However, she finds herself having to fend off advances from her new boss.

Christian purchases the publishing company where Ana is working and stops her from going on an overnight business trip with Jack, because Christian knows Jack's history of sexually harassing his assistants. Wanting Ana back in his life, Christian convinces her to give him another chance. After agreeing to her demands for a new arrangement, they begin to build trust and find stability.

However, when Ana meets Elena (Kim Basinger), the woman who seduced Christian when he was 15 years old, she's unhappy that Christian continues to be friends with her. When Elena realizes that Christian has romantic feelings for Ana, she tries to throw a wrench in the young couple's relationship.

But when he learns that his arch rival has been named Captain of the Highlanders and that new ownership threatens to destroy the team, he's lured back to the sport. He laces up and returns to the ice to keep his treasured team together.

Kong: Skull Island

They soon discover that the island is home to a wonder of colossal proportions — the gigantic and prehistoric ape known as King Kong, who possesses great strength and semi-human intelligence. As the team ventures deeper into the primate's territory, it becomes clear that they have more to fear than Kong, as there may be more terrifying, blood-thirsty predators lurking inhabiting the island.

Life

The six-person crew aboard the International Space Station includes Roy Adams (Ryan Reynolds), David Jordan (Jake Gyllenhaal) and others. They're initially excited when a Rover discovers the first evidence of life on Mars. Contained in a petri dish, the alien life form is taken aboard their ship.

The crew is elated, but their excitement soon takes a turn when the creature, which initially appeared harmless, attacks one of the astronauts (Ariyon Bakare). The sudden attack creates terror and uncertainty among the crew as they try to figure out what to do in order to make sure the alien does not come with them back to Earth, where it could become a massive threat to humans.

When an 11-year-old mutant girl named Laura Kinney (Dafne Keen) with her own superhuman powers comes into his life, Logan must protect her. Logan, Laura and Professor Xavier must defeat Nathaniel Essex. The trio flee for the Mexican border, in an attempt to keep Laura away from an evil corporation called Transigen.

When they fall into the water, they're amazed to find their bodies are glowing, each in a different color.

The next morning they discover that they all have super strength. The kids who once bullied them are surprised to find the five teens are invincible. In order to find out how and why this happened, the five teens decide to go back to the cave where it all began. There they encounter a voice that informs them they are the Power Rangers and they must defeat an evil alien named Rita Repulsa (Elizabeth Banks).

Soon, big changes take place in Gotham as The Joker joins forces with other evil masterminds to destroy the city. Batman is forced to drop the lone vigilante thing and work with Batgirl, Robin and Alfred to save Gotham.
